TMCI Padovan Kristalstop Cold Stabilizer

Innovative energy-saving continuous cold tartaric stabilization system that can cold stabilize wine in just 90 minutes.

Product specs

Measurable Energy Savings

  • 80% energy recovery in refrigeration
  • 95% recovery of bitartrate crystals for reuse or sale
  • 110% recovery of wash water at 104°F (40°C) for units equipped with on-board chiller

Padovan’s Kristalstop (K-Stop) is a continuous cold tartaric stabilization system that can cold stabilize wine in just 90 minutes. This is a revolutionary energy-saving system compared to the traditional cold stabilization method which requires wine to be held for 4 to 10 days at freezing temperatures in much larger refrigeration tanks that demand a great deal of energy.

The Kristalstop’s crystallization tank is 60 to 80 times smaller than the refrigerated holding tanks used in a traditional system. Its continuous process can operate automatically 24hrs/day for several days without needing a dedicated operator, and closely monitors the wine the entire time.

STANDARD VERSION

  • Uses reusable tartrate crystals with flow-rates between 2,000 and 20,000 liters per hour
  • Incoming wine is pre-cooled by running counter-current to the out-flowing cold-stabilized wine, further reducing heat loss and saving energy vs. traditional methods.
  • Recovery clip-on plate-heat exchanger
  • Centrifugal feed pump, reactor and tank in stainless steel AISI 304
  • 2 flow meters and 1 flow regulation valve
  • 3 recycling valves for product that is not stabilized
  • Remote multiple battery air type condenser
  • Crystal separation and dosing device composed of tank, centrifugal multi-revolving pump, high-efficiency hydro-cyclones and crystal injection pump
  • Processing unit includes reactor with accessories, insulation in polyurethane foam and cladding in stainless steel
  • Electric switchboard with stainless steel box and conductivity meter
  • PLC discharge and washing
